Kent Donica is a veteran Oklahoma cattleman and Secretary/Treasurer of the Soil Health Academy board. On his ranch, Kent has replaced conventional practices with adaptive grazing, soil-building strategies, and regenerative livestock systems-boosting both land health and profitability. Known for his no-nonsense approach, Kent tells it like it is, even when it ruffles feathers, because he knows the results help his fellow ranchers have better futures. His ranch also serves as a hands-on training ground for emerging regenerative producers.
“I don’t promote anything I haven’t tried myself,” Kent says. “Regeneration works — it makes the land healthier and the ranch more profitable. That’s why I share it through the Soil Health Academy.”
“I’m committed to SHA’s mission because I want ranchers to know they don’t have to sacrifice profitability to do right by the land. In fact, the two go hand in hand. Sometimes the truth ruffles feathers, but ranchers deserve honesty. Regenerative practices work, and I’m living proof. That’s why I’m committed to teaching others through SHA.” – Kent Donica
