Soil Health Academy is honored to be participating in the upcoming Montana Soil Health Symposium, a regional gathering dedicated to advancing practical, science-based approaches to regenerative agriculture. The event brings together farmers, ranchers, researchers, educators, and conservation leaders from across the region to share knowledge, experiences, and solutions for building healthier soils and more resilient agricultural systems.

Representing Soil Health Academy, Jill Pederson and Executive Director Doug Voss will be speaking on the long-term impacts of chemical-dependent farming systems, with a particular focus on glyphosate-based products such as Roundup. Their presentation will explore how repeated use of these products can affect soil biology, nutrient cycling, and ecosystem function, often leading to increased input reliance and declining soil resilience over time.

In addition to examining these challenges, Jill and Doug will highlight practical, field-tested alternatives that farmers can implement today. These regenerative approaches emphasize improving soil function through biology-first management, reducing reliance on synthetic inputs, and creating systems that support long-term productivity and profitability. Attendees can expect real-world examples, farmer-driven insights, and actionable strategies that can be adapted across a wide range of operations.

The Montana Soil Health Symposium features a diverse lineup of speakers, including experienced producers, soil scientists, agronomists, and conservation professionals, all focused on improving soil health, water infiltration, and farm resilience in Montana and beyond. The event serves as an important forum for open dialogue, shared learning, and collaboration within the agricultural community.

Soil Health Academy is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation and to support producers who are seeking sustainable, regenerative solutions for the future of their land. We look forward to connecting with attendees and continuing the work of advancing healthy soil, healthy farms, and healthy communities.
